They make it a goal to treat each patient like their own and will do anything possible for their patients and the owners who love them. Each patient is given plenty of love and attention, and we will do everything we can to make a sick pet feel better as soon as possible.

Gwendolyn O. – Veterinary Technician (LVT)

Gwendolyn is Licensed Veterinary Technician here at Northeastern Veterinary Care Center. She received her degree through SUNY Ulster and has been working with animals all her life. Originally from New York, she knew she wanted to work with animals during her early high school years. “I took a human anatomy and human biology class and realized half way through I was bored. I found myself thinking about how all of the information related to animals instead of people.” Even though we’ve only been open for a short while, she jumped at the opportunity to take in a stray kitten that was brought to us, and nurse it back to health. She just loves to help the ones who help us any way she can.

Susan D. – Veterinary Technician (CVT)

Animals have always been a vital part of Susan’s life, and she has never been without a pet. She began her career with animals by working with horses at the camp she attended as a child. From there, she worked with horses whenever and wherever possible. It wasn’t until 1998 that she began working as a veterinary technician with small animals. Susan became a certified veterinary technician in 2005. She is a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) member/trainer, amateur radio operator, and Ledge Light Health District Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) member, and sang with the Chorus of Westerly for 15 years, a hobby she hopes to resume again one day. Susan lives in Pawcatuck with her husband, David, and a clowder of cats.

Twylah C. – Receptionist

Twylah has always had an affinity for animal care. Between having pets of all kinds growing up, volunteering at local rescues & managing a pet shop, she has always ended up somewhere there was animals to care for. In fact, despite initially attending college for Education, she was continuously looking for opportunities in the animal care field instead. Finally, she has found her place within the NEVCC family where she can realize her passion for caring for animals & the people who love them while pursuing further learning regarding animal medicine. Twylah lives locally with her fiancée & their fur babies, hound dog Lucy, kitty Grayson & crazy conure Tiki, while waiting for their first human baby, expected in Spring 2018.

Lisa E. – Receptionist

Lisa resides in Stonington with her daughter Maddie, son Jakson, and fiancé Mike.  Her family is rounded out with dogs Nala and Piper, cats Mookie and Tigger, and a mouse named Athena.  Lisa has always enjoyed working with animals, with a special interest in behavior and training.  When not at the clinic, you can find Lisa outdoors with her family, crafting, or listening to music.

Clayton Beal – Hospital Administrator

Clayton heads up our support staff and handles the business administration necessary to keep us up and running and serving our clients. He is a retired U.S. Coast Guard officer. He holds graduate degrees in both Education & Training and Business Administration. Married to our Medical Director, Dr. Beal, Clayton is a co-owner of the clinic. Together they share a home in North Stonington with their fur kids Dobby, Rosie, Holstein and Puck.
