Meet the Northeastern Veterinarian

About Us

We are extremely proud of the dedicated team here at Northeastern Veterinary Care Center (NEVCC). Our team is filled with highly dedicated animal lovers who are well trained at their jobs. They make it a goal to treat each patient like their own and will do anything possible for their patients and the owners who love them. Each patient is given plenty of love and attention, and we will do everything we can to make a sick pet feel better as soon as possible.

Learning and education are very important here at NEVCC. We strive to have a state of the art hospital with a staff trained in the latest medical advances. Our patients deserve the very best veterinary care.

DR. DIANNE BEAL

Medical Director

Dr. Dianne Beal truly loves her animal patients as well as the people who care for them. Animals have always been a central part of her life and her goal has been not only to serve her clients and their pets, but the community as well. Originally from upstate NY, Dr. Beal earned her undergraduate degree from the College of St. Rose in Albany and a Masters in Cell Biology at East Carolina University.

After a career in research, she returned to school to follow her dream of becoming a veterinarian. She obtained her DVM from Iowa State University and completed a portion of her training in the UK, attending the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. Following graduation, Dr. Beal completed a small animal internship with a heavy focus on emergency medicine at Regional Veterinary Referral Center in Springfield, VA, and has worked in small animal practice both in CT and RI. Dr. Beal has a soft spot for her older patients and a special interest in dermatology.

Dr. Beal resides in North Stonington with her husband, Clayton (a retired CG officer), their beloved pit bull, Rosie, and cats Holstein and Puck. In her spare time Dianne enjoys exploring the outdoors, belly dance, good books and movies, and making and selling jewelry.

“One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is experiencing firsthand the bond between our clients and their pets. Our pets are part of our families and helping them lead happy and healthy lives naturally helps their humans at the same time. Whether it’s providing initial vaccinations and wellness care, dealing with unexpected injury or illness, or helping with end-of-life decisions, I love being there for my clients and their pets.”

“It is rare to find a vet who not only has an excellent and warm bedside manner but is also talented in her surgical skills. Today, Jazz is back home and full of energy. As owners of 4 cats, we will be following Dr. Beal to her new practice in Mystic to ensure the future well being of them and our peace of mind. Thanks again!”
